System taking up 20.28 GB, Icon running 8.1.

Lumia Icon running Windowsphone 8.1 running low on storage. Storage Sense shows System is using 20.28 GB! What is going on, and how can I fix this? Is hard reset the only option?

More than likely yes. Even updates aren't that massive.

Is Storage Sense showing correct figures for the other headings? Sometimes, after I add a large number of files to my phone, they all show up as system. It takes a while for the phone to recognise and sort the files into the right headings.
