Windows Central Question

I was having difficulty getting out of the Insider program with my Icon, so I ran the Recovery tool which took me back to 8.1. I downloaded Upgrade Advisor and I says My device isn't ready for windows 10, even though 14393 is released to the masses!! Can't find any files that I can download to PC that will do the upgrade.

Is that a Windows PC question or a Mobile question ?

If it is a mobile question, please ignore what I wrote below.

If Upgrade Advisor says your device is not compatible (ready) for Win 10, then I don't think anything can get your computer upgraded successfully.

You can give it a try, but don't blame me if something goes awry.

Assuming you do have your Win 8.1 product key. Yes ?
Post back for reply first before I continue.
Thank you.

He has a Nokia Icon. And it's temporary issue, all of us have this issue at the moment. (That is, whoever wanted to upgrade to w10m from wp8.1 today.)

He says "Icon", and he uses all these terms which are specific for phones. :) And in addition to that, he has the same problem as several of us with Lumia phones. :)

But yeah, his post in unclear, and he brings more confusion by mentioning his PC. :)

Does Windows 10 Mobile also have build 14393.969 ?

I thought it was only for PC.

I think that's the previous mobile build (on Production, or on Release Preview ring). He only said "14393".

But it doesn't matter, we're the only ones talking anything in this thread.😉 For what I know, OP may not care about this, he hasn't even registered, or he could be somewhere out getting drunk.😁 It he could even be trolling us.😝

OP here...I finally was able to sign in. Thanks garisa for the link. I hope this is a temporary issue. It looks like I will be keeping my Icon for a while, unless I switch carriers, and I don't really want to do that.

This doesn't make sense.....if we were on WM10, why would they not allow it now?

Check this thread.
Upgrade Advisor telling there's no w10 for l735 - #mTalk Upgrade Advisor telling there's no w10 for l735 - Windows Central Forums

Just a temporary issue.

No, none of that. I was on 14393.969 which was released to the masses, but I was on slow release also.

When learned the Icon was going no further, I wanted to get out of the insider program, but couldn't just opt out. It said I must wait for the next release then get out. So I used the software recovery tool thinking it would put on 14393, but it took me back to 8.1.
