My laptop/2-in-1 keeps shutting down on its own

When I press the power button or close the lid on my ASUS T102HA laptop/2-in-1, it simply sleeps/turns off the display like most tablets, and I can turn it back on and pick up where I left off. But when I leave it with the display off for a few minutes, it shuts down and I have to long press the power button and sign back in to my account. And this happens even though the auto-lock and auto-sleep system settings are already disabled. Is this a safety or battery saving mechanism? If not, is there a way to turn this off?
