Hello,

I want to keep a back up phone for emergencies - I want it to have a copy of the SIM I am using now - so it is the same number. (no, i don't want a burner). If the one I am using now goes kaput. I have the other available.

What if both phone are on at the same time?

How does this work?

Thanks,

Mr. V

How do you plan to provision your Carrier service account (phone number) to two seperate sim cards for the same carrier? I did not know that was possible...

I have no idea. Maybe it can't be done?
I called the carrier and they said yes. I figure two cannot work at the same time.

You could buy a spare unactivated sim...then when/if your current sim goes bad, you just need to get access to your carrier to activate the new sim card with your account phone number. I don't think they (a carrier) can activate two seperate sim cards with the same phone number/account. I get what you are trying to do. I had a sim go bad once...it did not totally go bad though, I just could only get 3G with it. I had to order a new one and wait for two business days for it to arrive then insert it and activate it.

That is one of the reasons. The other is I am going to want to switch phones. I have an HP Elite x3 and an Alcatel Idol 4s. I don't want to have to juggle SIMs.
