Either I'm missing this somewhere in the latest build or we have a default browser that:

a) can't see Windows 10 bookmarks from Edge on a PC
b) can't import anything?
c) can't backup any you create (as I've just found out!)

How has this got so far down the line without being addressed?

Word is(no I don't have the link on hand) edge for mobile on the next build shall be greatly improved, so here's hoping they open up the sync.

Was wondering about that myself. On my desktop, edge imported my bookmarks from IE, but yet to get that on my Lumia 810.

The odd thing is, 10166 synced my favorites.
But...
It only synced folders.
I had favorites in the base and I couldn't see any of them.
But, I could see all the others.

Strange, i imported my favorites from Chrome to Edge (Laptop) and i have my favorites on my Lumia 735/1520 so it works for me at least..

New Lumia 950 owner here.....and I am stunned.
No, really. Stunned.

I have a flagship phone with a major software companies browser, I can't install either firefox or chrome because they don't exist on the MS app store and I can not import ANY bookmarks or passwords from EITHER of those browsers to Edge!!!

In order to actually do this it appears that I would need...
Windows 10

because Edge will not install on Windows 7

Now I guess you are all going to say "well just upgrade to 10..."

But it's a work phone...and the Windows 7 Laptop is a work Laptop and the corporate IT guys are the ones who decide which OS we run not me.

Seriously....REALLY?

If its a work phone why are you trying to use it for personal use??

Did he say that it was for personal use?
It sounds like he's using it for work.
The organization, that I work for, uses Windows 7 and Chrome.

I think somethingbrite has a valid point.
Maybe stunned is a bit excessive, though.
Can you import passwords and bookmarks on mobile versions of Chrome and Firefox, from other browsers?
Honestly, it would surprise me.
I do empathize with his pain, though.

One possible solution would be a password keeper, like LastPass, and a bookmark manager, like Xmarks.
