When I turn on the Internet Sharing activating the hotspot It is detectable by all devices...and yet for some reason while the playstation 3 (PS3) finds the outlet....I'm having trouble successfully connecting to the phone.

Any advice?

Toss your PS3 in the garbage and get a gaming computer. Problem solved.

Honestly, I don't know. I don't think the WP creates an adhoc network because then other WPs wouldn't be able to connect to it.

I don't think they are letting you tether unless you have the shared data plan.

What do you mean by "finds the outlet?"

Afaik, the PS3 doesn't recognize adhoc networks, only infrastructure. I believe the WiFi tethering on WP is adhoc. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry, my account didn't even let me know people had replied to this.

Embarrassed to say that at this point in my life, I rarely game. I had no interest in network gaming just the utilization of hulu, netflix, in hi-def...

but now learning of ad-hoc versus infrastructure has me a little scared.

but please tell me more.

They need to fix this problem i need to download updates on my ps3 games and i ain't paying ?30 a month to do so
