Syncing contacts via BT

Here's my situation. I have an HTC Trophy on Verizon with the latest OS. I have a brand new 2012 car that syncs to the phone. In the past, I can use the car's handsfree to make calls on the phone and use the phone's contacts.

This week, out of the blue, the car can no longer see the phone's contacts.
I have deleted the pairing and re-paired. No help.
I have rebooted the phone. No help.

I can't seem to find a way to force a sync from the phone to the car. I've thought about deleting the pairing, renaming the phone, and then re-pair in the thoughts that the car is keeping some sort of database based on the phone's name. (It shows up when it is paired with the phone)

All other functions work fine. I can stream audio. I can use the car's controls to go forward and back when streaming audio. I can even play a movie on the phone and stream the audio on the car's stereo.

Any thoughts on how to force an address book sync to the car?
I've posted in a forum specific to the car as well. Haven't heard back yet.
