When is the right time for a Surface phone?

If there's a fully-baked Surface Phone ready to be released and with a feature set competitive with Samsung and Apple's flagships then release it with the next major W10M build installed. Let's go!

What's your DREAM Windows Phone look like?

I have no huge demands regarding the hardware of a dream Windows phone other than it has at least 2 GB RAM. But it would either sideload Google Play Store apps or Windows developers will have closed the app gap with Google Play Store apps. This is required to bring me back to a Windows phone.

Sooooo, are you going to buy the Surface Laptop or what?

If I were in the market for a new laptop I'd choose one that has USB-C, in order to be future-friendly, and I liked to hear from first adopters about their experiences with it after 6 months, after a year, etc especially with regards to the "fabric" cover. I'm guessing there's a Surface Laptop 2...

Will Windows Central survive the death of Windows Mobile?

Everyone is dealing with convergence: a world with phones that are as powerful as PCs, lightweight laptops that are essentially just web browsers and devices that let you cast your mobile device to a 4K TV. The distinction between mobile, office, and home computing are blurred and I think it's...

Switching platforms? | Thinking of leaving?...comment here!

The app gap is what mainly drove me to switch from WP to Android last year. I have not regretted it. My wife still uses her Lumia 520 running WP8.1 and likes it but she is uninterested in apps. She uses the Lumia just for calls, SMS and occasional photos as though it were just a feature phone...

    Onedrive storage down to 5GB from 15 + 15GB

Knocking the free account from 15 GB to 5 GB and cancelling the 15 GB camera upload bonus just seems petty and short-sighted. Fortunately months ago I'd adopted Flickr, Dropbox, Box and Google Photo for backups so I wasn't really relying on OneDrive anyways. I just thought Microsoft wanted as...

Windows Phone it's not the right choice for the people after all.

My wife likes her Nokia Lumia 520 but she primarily uses it for phone calls, texting and camera. She's uninterested in using it for email, Facebook and games, she goes straight to our iPad for that because she likes doing those activities on a larger screen. If she wasn't using this Windows...

Would you honestly buy another Microsoft Mobile?

I've jumped ship and I'm not coming back anytime soon. After 3 years with a Lumia 710 running WP7.8 I went to Android with a Moto G (2014). I have far more official apps for Android from Canadian companies that I do business with as compared to Windows Phone. Syncing bookmarks in Google Chrome...

The Windows Phone App Gap Thread

re: Is there really an app gap on WP? I'm a longtime Windows Phone 7 user. I recently got a Android Lollipop rather than upgrade to Windows Phone 8 as several companies I do business with still had not offered a Windows Phone app. But the biggest app gap hole that I filled by going to Android...

Your carrier - Your plan - Your service

Lumia 710 and Lumia 520 on the Rogers Canada network. My Couple's plan is no longer offered on their website but I've had it since June 2012. It's a Talk and Text (no data) plan providing 400 shared evening/weekend minutes local; unlimited calling nationwide between these two phones; unlimited...

As an apple user I have to admit windows 10 is exciting.

ITunes for Windows both syncs my iTunes music to my iPads and lets me legally and quickly make an mp3 copy which I then copy to my (non-iPod) music player. This way if Apple ever shuts down iTunes for Windows (unlikely but still possible) I'll still have my songs available. Sent from my Lumia...

As an apple user I have to admit windows 10 is exciting.

With Windows laptop running 8.1 I have access to my iTunes library. I can Skype and Hangout with my contacts who are using an iPhone, iPad or Mac. If I really needed iOS notifications on a laptop yes I'd get a MacBook running Yosemite but Windows laptops offer as much or more features...

Are you going to take advantage of the free upgrade?

Since my production Dell is 64 bit I won't be constrained by the 4 GB RAM limit either. Sent from my Lumia 710 using Tapatalk

Are you going to take advantage of the free upgrade?

I've had the opportunity to have a test computer running Win 10 TP right next to my production Win 8.1 PC. As as soon as Dell confirms my 8.1 model can be safely upgraded to 10, I'm upgrading. Ill miss the Apps screen but I like Continuum and the new Action Center. Sent from my Lumia 710 using...

    Microsoft, Windows 10 & Blackberry

Microsoft has stated it is Cloud First, Mobile First (software) and BlackBerry has cut back its hardware lineup to focus on software. They're positioning to be direct competitors rather than positioning for a merger. Sent from my Lumia 710 using Tapatalk
