Sometimes just turning your phone off then back on fixes stuff like that. This happens to my mother occasionally on her 1520. She goes for several months at a time without restarting her phone as do I. (try that on android)😁 Soft reset if that doesn't work.

The only way the locally stored contact pictures would come back after a reset would be if they were synced with your Microsoft account. Check your outlook account from a computer and see if your contacts have pictures. Are you importing your contacts from the SIM? If you are, then you will not...
