I've been lucky enough to have a Lumia 830 in my possession for a week, along with my 735.

Obviously I needed to compare the photo quality (see the photos below). Detail captured by the 830 is obviously much higher than the 735, mostly due to it's higher MP count.

I actually prefer the flower photos from the 735, the 830 has oversaturated the flower and the bokeh effect (out of focus background) is less pronounced than the 735. This might be due to the 830 adding a sharpness filter during image processing, it certainly looks like everything is slightly too sharp. The 735 doesn't appear to apply much extra sharpening of the image.

The garden landscape photo shows a much bigger difference between the two cameras. The 830 has captured much more detail, especially on the autumnal trees. The 735 provides a brighter overall picture, but the sky behind the trees is slightly over-exposed, which has caused a lot of the detail to disappear (some trees look like they have no leaves, but they are there on the 830). Again the image from the 830 appears to be slightly over-sharpened.

All photos were taken using Microsoft Camera, all settings on auto or default.

awesome detail from 830
the image is more bright if shot with 730 and the colour is more natural
shame its just 6MP camera
I really want to know how's 730 vs 830 photos in low light condition
can someone test it??

interesting comparing the 830 and 930. there seems to be some focus breathing or something going on between the two, or the shooter took a couple steps forward or backward during the tests. the 830 imagines look sharper and more detailed, but that might be due f-stop the photos were taken at. if the 930 automatically shoots w/ a wider aperture, everything that's not the main subject will look softer. if the 830 automatically shoots with a smaller aperture, everything in the frame will look sharper because of that smaller aperture. i'd like to see shoot take with the exact same settings--iso, aperture, and shutter speed. otherwise, you're really only comparing which camera you like more based on what decisions the auto mode makes for you.

Thanks,I also have very steady hands ;) I tend to rest it on a surface like a wall or something nearby. I find using just 1 second or less exposure time with around ISO 200-400 in bright lights at night is enough. If you leave ISO on auto it comes out way over exposed which is why I love having manual settings on Nokia phones
