Someone in the thread said he was having trouble reverting his phone back to RM-820 to get the ATT GDR1 firmware back. Has anyone managed to get back from the euro dev amber rom back to ATT. I just want to make sure this is doable so I can revert back when ATT releases their Amber update

I am still trying and no luck so far. I've even went so far as bricking my 920 where only the burgundy screen shows up during boot up and tried to flash it with AT&T pre-portico but no good.

one of the risks we took when we flashed.

there may be a way to flash a portico rom first and then flash to ATT Amber. I have no clue which one - sorry. Still have to try to go from Rogers Amber to ATT Amber, although I don't really care. I have no carrier boot logo and I have data sense. Everything else is idenctial to my wife's L920 ATT Amber

It's possible.

Read this thread carefully. Specially thread #3 and so on...
so far nobody has been able to flash from either

French
Rogers
ATT Dev
Euro Dev

to ATT stock
even trying to track back the original flashing gets stuck at flashing back to Rogers pre-portico.
You may be able to flash from Euro Dev to ATT Dev. You can even go from Rogers to French to ATT Dev ROM
but there is no way to get to ATT stock.
See recent pages of these threads in which people were trying to get from any of the above to stock ATT.

See deafpatrick's post who tried to go from Euro Dev to ATT

If you do find a proven way to flash to ATT stock from any of these you would be helping a lot of people. Unfortunately, the claims made in paulday's link are based on the fact that you can only go back to ATT stock if you never make an OTA on the pre-portico Rogers. Since the whole purpose of that thread is to go to Amber in which case you have to do OTA, there is no way of going back.

If you read carefully the entire thread on the link I posted, specially posts #7, 8 and 9, you'll see some of them did it successfully.

The trick is to flash the pre-portico Rogers, don't let your phone update OTA while on the pre-portico Rogers and flash the stock 059L848 RM-820 NDT AMERICA ATT ROM (1232.5692.1314.0001).
When it's done you just let your phone update to the GDR2 / AMBER OTA.

The issue is that people can't even flash the pre portico. There are two people that say they've done it while many others in the threads I posted can't even go back to Rogers pre portico and are stuck. I will give this a try again myself now.
Read post 29, 30 and 33 of the same thread you posted. From this it seems that it's a one way and once you did a single OTA there is no way back. If you can't flash the pre portico Rogers there is no way of going back to ATT stock.

Edit1: just tried here.
preportico1.JPG
it says you are flashing on device that is not supported.
preportico3.JPG

When I then click continue anyway it throws an error Recovery failed. Platform ID fails. FFU not meant for this product and the phone reboots.
preportico4.JPG

this confirms other posts of that same thread and the one at WPCentral. If you flashed Rogers and went to portico to Amber there is no way back to pre-portico.
thanks for trying to help. I was hoping you were correct and I missed something.
Maybe it works with the Euro Dev, but I read posts in the links I gave above that people had the same issue. You can't even go back to Rogers pre portico.

any other suggestions are welcome
thanks

PS: I am perfectly fine with Rogers Amber/GDR2. I don't have a single problem. Just would be nice to know there is a way back just in case it may become necessary in the future.

Should have left it at pmc64's simple answer: Nope

cheers
