    Plasti Dip for Band repair

OK, it was a failure. The Plasti Dip started peeling a little after a week. I don't recommend this way, unless you dont mind repainting on a weekly basis. I hope I didn't get anyone's hopes up. Sugru seems like the best temporary fix at the moment.

    Plasti Dip for Band repair

I believe Sugru may be best for patching cuts. If I had some on hand, I would have applied Sugru first, then coated it with Plasti dip. I expect the edges to start peeling eventually, but its easy to peel it completely off and respray. My bad was out of commission for a total of 3 hours for...

    Plasti Dip for Band repair

OK, I decided to test out my theory. I grabbed a slightly damaged Band 2 on ebay. Here are the results: The first pic shows the original damage. Fairly minor, but would get progressively worse over time. The second pic shows the same area after 3 coats of Plasti Dip. I could have gotten a...

    Plasti Dip for Band repair

Anyone ever try Plasti Dip to repair a tear in the Band 1 or 2. Its mostly used on cars. its a sprayable rubber like coating that seals and protects. For most materials it peels off easily, but on the Band, it should be permanent. I've been using it recently, and I'm so impressed, I'm going...

Sent my Surface Book to MS for repair and left my BaseQi in it. Ooops!

Nevermind. Less than an hour after my initial post. I received a phone call from MS asking if I received my replacement Surface Book, and if there were any issues with it. I asked if they could look for the BaseQi in my original, and the agent opened a ticket. Pretty cool.

Sent my Surface Book to MS for repair and left my BaseQi in it. Ooops!

The keyboard in the base of my Surface book stopped working. I shipped it out, and just received my replacement, only to realize that I forgot to remove my BaseQi with a 128GB MicroSD card in it. Think there is any chance, they could recover it? I'm counting it as a loss, but I do have a few...

Will the Surface Book be upgradable via interchangable bases?

Paul Thurrott, and other readers have stated that the 1st Gen Surface works with any of the bases. Most stories come from people taking their own surface to a Microsoft Store and conducting the experiment on the sales floor. As stated above, Microsoft has no plans to sell the bases...

I keep coming back to Windows Phone

Microsoft would have to relive the WP7 days; build a mobile OS from scratch based on user aesthetics and ergonomics. It would also need to be resource efficient. This is how Windows Phone 7 came about, and it was brilliant. All you newcomers owe it to yourselves to play with a WP7 device...

Switching platforms? | Thinking of leaving?...comment here!

I just recently purchased a ZTE Axon 7. I've been switching back and forth between Android and W10M for the past year, and I just had to come to grips with the fact that Android isn't W10M. Android is different, and some things about the OS are a chore, but it offers soooo much more...

    Keyboard/trackpad issues

For about the last 2 weeks, my keyboard dock becomes unresponsive for about 10-20 seconds whenever I move my surface book or pick it up. At first I thought it was static electricity, but it happens if I pick it up and gently set it down in my lap. If I slide it a few inches across my desk, the...

Should I return my 950 xl?

I've owned an HP pc or two, so I know how bad they are, but all windows phones offer a "Stock" experience.

Should I return my 950 xl?

Is there a history of Windows Phone bloatware, outside of a splash screen or a few carrier apps that can be uninstalled?

Should I return my 950 xl?

I don't see what's niche about the HP. It doesn't sacrifice anything compared with any other devices, nor is it priced higher. Yet, by many accounts it has the best fit, finish, and feel of any windows phone to date.

Should I return my 950 xl?

My advice to is to return them. I bought a used 950XL for $350 that was only a few months old. I've now had it for over a month. The seller had it for sale for over a month with no bites. The 950XL looks good, but feels cheap. If you go with insider builds, expect poor battery life every...

Several Driver Updates just hit my Surface Book

My keyboard and touchpad become unresponsive periodically, after waking up from hibernation. Also my touchpad periodically becomes slow to react to first touch. Never had these problems before this recent update. I don't regularly use multi-touch gestures, besides vertical scrolling.

Surface Book susceptibility to problems in hot climates?

No one uses their laptop in 40C heat. A house or building will knock off a minimum of 10 degrees even without air conditioning. Depending on how hydrated one is, a laptop will outlast the user in 40C heat. When the body temp reaches 41C, its considered heat stroke.

Surface Book susceptibility to problems in hot climates?

Re: Surface Book susceptibility to problems in hot climates I wasn't surprised or complaining, just giving a real world example how the environmental heat and humidity will not allow electronics to properly maintain cool running temps.
