MS trying to shove Edge down peoples' throats

Apple forces iOS to open Safari when clicking links from their mail app. However, I don't think Microsoft should do this. Edge still is not there yet. I have issues with it freezing at work. Might be the configuration, but I am running 1709 with a new laptop. My company just moved to Chrome as...

Why does Edge suck so bad

I try to use Edge mostly at work. However, it does freeze on me often. There is one Internet based application that I use that requires IE still. Also, I recently started using LastPass. While Edge has extensions, you have to install it from the Store, which is blocked at work. So use...

For a Microsoft eco-system purist, which is better: iPhone or Android?

I have a Pixel 2 XL. I have installed the Microsoft Launcher, Outlooks, Edge, OneDrive and all the Office apps... I setup Cortana as my default Assistant, which I can activate by holding down the home button. It works well. The only time I really use Google services is to download apps from...

To Exchange, or not to Exchange?

I have a Pixel 2 XL. I have the Microsoft Launcher installed, I have all the Office apps installed including OneDrive. I have Cortana installed and linked to the Home Button. Even have Hey Cortana set up, but haven't tried it yet. I use Outlook for my email and Calendar, and Edge as my...

    Confused - Mix feelings.

If you don't need much as far as apps, then Windows Mobile is still good. I couldn't deal with the app situation and just want Android. Don't feel great about it, but now I can finally get me work email on my phone. Crazy that couldn't on my Windows Mobile device being that we use Exchange for...

    Does iPhone X grab you?

It looks nice. Just way too expensive. $999 for a 64GB phone, they should have made it 128GB for that price. Also, you need AppleCare, that is another $199. My wife has an iPhone 6 Plus. Going in for a second repair. The first time they replaced the phone, this time likely just replacing the...

Microsoft owes us that have stuck with them since Windows Phone 7 and even beyond!!!

Unless something dramatic happens in the next few months, I will be getting either a new iPhone or Android phone. Not excited to get either, but I am looking forward to having the apps that I do not have now.

    Share your Windows Phone History!

First, the Lumia 822 (Died within 18 months. I think the micro-USB port was bad. Couldn't charge the phone.), then the Lumia 928 (I had 3 of these, a couple of cracked screens.), now the Lumia Icon. It has been 4 1/2 years in total. Sadly, the Icon may be the end of the road for me. I blame...

What would it take for you to come back to Windows Mobile?

I am still using Windows 10 Mobile. However, without a new phone on Verizon, I will likely be leaving later this year. So, that is what it will take to keep me. I would consider jumping ship from Verizon is there is a compelling enough reason to do so, but there hasn't been to this point...

Just got my lumia 950 xl, love WP 10! Why is WP having a hard time?

Most people still do not know that Windows Phone/Mobile even exists. When they see my Lumia Icon, they assume it is an Android, if they know it is not an iPhone.

Will Windows Central survive the death of Windows Mobile?

I think they saw this coming when they changed the name of the site from Windows Phone Central to just Windows Central. However, they may want to take it another step and name it Microsoft Central (although they probably can't), since they cover more than just Windows. Microsoft is not going...

    Thoughts on MS buying LinkedIn

This is not like those other acquisitions. Nokia was a dying business when Microsoft bought it. Yammer is a niche product, and Skype is too easily replicated by other apps. LinkedIn is a network of professionals that is not easily replicated. I am on Facebook and LinkedIn. There is very...

    Thoughts on MS buying LinkedIn

You are right to an extent. They have 433M users, but 100M+ are active users. Still, the network is growing and they are still expanding internationally. They could be over 1 billion within the next 10 years.

End of the Road for the Lumia 928?

Very disappointed that the Lumia 928 has been excluded from getting the official Windows 10 Mobile upgrade, and removed from the Insider Program. I had little hope that Verizon would do the right thing and enable the Lumia 928 to be upgraded. However, I did not expect that Microsoft would pull...

Nokia Lumia 928 Bugs and Defects

Anyone have an issue with group messaging in Windows 10 Mobile? Looks like the upgrade from 8.1 broke it. Not hopeful that Verizon will officially support W10M on any of their Windows phones.

    Why *haven't* you bought a Lumia 950?

I am on Verizon. If it was available to me, I would have bought one already. I can switch fee free next month. I would prefer to stay with Verizon and not move to AT&T. My wife needs a new phone, but wants to go back to an iPhone. She has been using a Lumia 928 for two years. Can't...

    Why *haven't* you bought a Lumia 950?

Not soon, unless you think 6-9 months is soon.

    Can Windows Phone Get Viruses?

Back up your phone, then do a hard reset. You can try to restore the backup during setup. If still having issues, do a hard reset and don't restore from the backup. You will need to reinstall apps and set up everything from scratch in that case though.

15% of Windows Users are Media Center Users that Can't Upgrade

I think 15% of users is a very high estimate. However, I do agree they should carry forward WMC to Windows 10. There are costs involved related to format licenses, that is why they charged for it with Windows 8 (although they did give out free licenses early on). Have you thought about...

Windows Media Center to make a return on Windows 10 ? Any updates ?

WMC didn't come standard with W8 Pro. They gave away free product codes in the beginning, but you would have to pay $10 if you wanted it now. You had to be running W8 Pro to install WMC. I think if you upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8 Pro, maybe they included WMC. I upgraded a Vista...
