    Surface 2 Speakers

Re: Anyone else suddenly experiencing low volume? In my case, the volume has been low right from launch. We have a thread here about this: http://forums.windowscentral.com/microsoft-surface-2/246827-surface-2-speakers.html Also, there is a thread on the Microsoft Answers site: Surface 2...

Survey: How common are hardware / software problems on the Surface 2?

The only thing that disappoints me with the Surface 2 for now is the faint speakers. The max volume is seriously low compared to the RT.

    No Email Sound Notification

Re: No Sound Emai Notification? That's because the volume of the speakers on the Surface 2 is all around very low. That's a pain when watching videos and listening some music with the integrated speakers. And it's a pain for the notifications too.

    Xbox Music Visualizer gone?

    Indeed, it seems it's gone.

Surface 2 Battery Life. Whats your experience?

That's odd. The Surface 2 is supposed to last longer than the RT...

    Surface 2 Speakers

One guy exchanged his device and the new one have exactly the same sound issues. I think that, indeed, Microsoft Support doesn't know any better than suggest an exchange...

Can you do this with an iPad?

Since one of the main causes of a BSOD is hardware failure, surely Macs have a way to report it with a BSOD equivalent.

    Surface 2 Speakers

It seams Microsoft Support is telling people that it is not a software issue and recommends an exchange. Surface 2 Speaker/Sound Problems - Microsoft Community

Surface 2 is already dead :(

By default, the Surface 2 goes into connected standby mode after 2 minutes of inactivity. You can also put it in standby instantly by pressing the power button.

    Excess Play in Volume Rocker

My Surface 2 definitively doesn't do that. The volume rocker is stiff, no rattling when shaking.

The audio quality from the speakers is far from great.

So.. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Is it a sticker you are supposed to remove when unboxing the device? I am receiving mine today, so I can't answer that question but it looks like a protective sticker.

Where is the 200 g Skydrive?

You are supposed to have 2 cards in the Surface 2 box. One for Skydrive and one for Skype. There will be a unique code to enter on skydrive.com/surface and another one on skype.com/surface to activate the bonuses.

Official "I have the Surface 2" thread

I must say that I'm pretty concerned seeing all these build quality problems, speakers problems and crashing / instability problems that are popping up in these forums. I am receiving my Surface 2 by UPS today. I will see how it goes. Now, instability problems can be fixed by updates. Speakers...

Official "I have the Surface 2" thread

re: Official "I have the Surface 2" thread Yes indeed. Personally, I didn't encounter the term InstantGo before reading this thread. At first, I wasn't sure either if it was the same. But after doing some research, here is what I found: A document from Intel mentioning at the second page: A...

Official "I have the Surface 2" thread

re: Official "I have the Surface 2" thread I agree it doesn't clearly states InstantGo / Connected Stanby in the specs of the Surface 2. However, according to this battery report posted in this thread by dolphinparty, it is indicated that connected standby is supported. Another clue would be...

Official "I have the Surface 2" thread

re: Official "I have the Surface 2" thread Unless I'm missing something here, InstantGo is only another name for Connected Standby. In which case, Surface 2 definitively supports it. The Surface 2 is connected standby enabled. That is not the case for the Surface Pro 2 however.

    Surface 2 questions

I hope so, on the Microsoft US site, they indeed advertise up to 64GB for the Surface 2. I just browsed Newegg and I see they have up to 128 GB cards. Maybe that would work too. I agree it would be very odd to downgrade the card reader on the Surface 2 versus the Surface RT.
