I haven't had a Cell Phone since 2004. Last week I picked up a Nokia Lumia 521 for $65 off contract and pay $35 every month for service to T-Mobile. Cheaper than my damn land line, and more reliable funny enough.

Anyway, I set everything on auto and took a first picture using Creative Camera of my trusty knife of 15 years

Didn't know it could focus so close

I took this picture at a restaurant after I had Cherry Coke. I dropped one of the cherries into a glass of water and let Creative Studio work all of the magic, although I adjusted some of the settings (shutter speed, brightness, ISO) to make it look more dark since it was lunch time.

Do you trust that holder. It made me remember the Escort radar detector I mounted on my Norton. I hit a bump and it flew off at 70 or so. It did survive but got moved to the inside of a tank bag. That rig probably saved my license and wallet because it prevented dozens of speeding tickets.

I do trust it.
We're talking fat tire grandpa bike here 3mph max.
One thing I don't like about the holder is the thumbscrew can push in and indent the back of the phone.

This thing is more for tripod use.

**Glad to know you skated on the tickets.
The 'ole radar detector was a must back when I had the 03 Mustang Cobra

That detector still works. It was the best electronic device I have ever bought. I bought a Toyota Tundra in 03 and its happy speed is 65-70 so I just don't use it anymore.

The Nokia camera is one amazing piece of silicon. on my 521 I can set the ISO to about 400, and the picture to 4 seconds. (okay I know that's real slow and takes a real steady shot). But I was amazed, and a little freaked it literally filled a very dark room, with full exposure light. (beyond what I could see with my natural eyesight)... I've never seen any thing this capable in a phone. The 4 seconds is extremely long -- I get that, but the fact they can take a dark room and fill it to near daylight with that exposure, is awesome.

Thought I'd give the 'ole 521 a go after the Cyan update.
All pics taken with the default camera in close up mode.

This 521 has been idle for about 4 months and it fired right up with about 60% battery and started updating.
Probably won't be using it much if at all.
My other unused 521 is still pristine on the Amber firmware.
