Almost all of the items on the Menu of My Windows 535 Lumia phone won't open. Why?

Almost all of the items on the Menu of My Windows 535 Lumia phone won't open.

When I tap the Calendar icon on the Menu screen, the screen goes blank and then only the Menu reappears without opening the calendar. What can I do to rectify the matter? I have also found that there are other icons that does the same. Is it a bug?

Kindly join the site so you could answer some these questions:

1) are you on WM10 or 8.1?
2) have you tried performing a soft reset or even restarting the device?
3) have you checked if anyone of those apps have a pending update in the store?
