Windows Central Question

I have a laptop with windows 10. The factory gave it me with windows 8.1 and i wanna reset this (delete files and start from the beggining)
after the reset it will bring me back to windows 8.1 .
after this can i upgrade for free to windows 10? is this still possible?

and something else.
what is better? clean install or reset by windows 10 settings.

Hi, as long as you have activated Windows 10 on your laptop previously, you can reinstall Win10 from scratch for free.
I would probably download the latest ISO, delete the partitions on your hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 10.

Hi charlatan1968! Thanks for your answer!
So u think that clean install is a better way than reset from settings?
Can u guide me 1) how to see my product id `to have this after the clean install` 2) from where can i download the latest ISO and 3) which partitions should i remove? Is there a completed guide from windows central? I found some guides but i ll appreciate something guaranteed by your opinion.
Thank you for your time!
