Software update error code 800728f8f-undable to check updates

Lumia 920, PD Win 8.1.
After trying out Win 10 TP and then rolling back to Win 8.1 PD, I cannot check for phone updates. Keep getting the 800728f8 error. I have checked and re-checked my time/date settings and region. Tried on LTE and on Wi-Fi. Soft resets haven't helped.
Any ideas?

Read somewhere: Deleting temporary file (using Storage sense) helped them it seems. You can try and see.

Thanks, I tried that....0 temp files listed. I have over 20 GB of free space on phone, so I don't think this is an issue.

I have the same problem with my 1020 after rolling back from WP 10 TP, i checked my date/time settings and everything is right, maybe i'm going to use the windows phone recovery tool again and re-install the updates

I actually had the same exact scenario happen to my on my Lumia 1020 , researched for hours tried many clock things, finally backed up all my apps and settings and did a hard reset, when it came back up I had clock on automatic and then I set my own apn instead of the tmobile apn(Same exact apn, I just put it in manually)After I uninstalled pfd then reinstalled it ,and boom it worked like a charm, not sure which part actually helped fix it but one of those steps solved my issue.
