Hey everyone,

It's been 2 days now and Windows Update is still not showing build 10240 on my laptop. I'm on build 10166 and I'm definitely logged in with the right Microsoft account. Tried restarting a dozen times, restarted the Windows Update service, switched between slow and fast rings,... Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

I'm in the same boat. I got it to update no problem on my home desktop but it just won't find it on my Surface Pro 3. It's a little frustrating, not the end of the world since 10166 is so good, but still... I needs me the latest. :)

Did you try deleting the update cache and restarting windows update service? That's probably not it as that usually fixes failed downloading but worth a try.

Could be they are testing staggered updates but Gabe would have probably mentioned that.

I'm not getting any errors, in fact, Windows Update still seems to working as I am getting Windows Defender definitions and I got some .NET hotfix after I installed something that had some .NET components.

I don't know if it is because I installed 10240 once already on another machine? I wouldn't think so, but dunno.

Same thing here. Windows Update seems to work in general, but it just doesn't show build 10240.

I doubt it has anything to do with you installing it on another machine.

Ok, as of 3:18 PM Central Standard time, it finally started downloading the update. I didn't do anything different so I think it will be just a matter of time for all of us. Maybe they have the updates throttled so they don't get overwhelmed. Though if that is the case, they probably would have mentioned it.

Anyway, I'm on my way.. I bet the rest of you will be too shortly.

Have you guys made sure you show TH1 as the path in the registry? I did that on all my machines and they all started downloading 10240 within 24hrs.
HKLM>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>WindowsSelfHost>Applicability make sure BranchName is set to TH1

Yeah, my registry keys are all correct.

I gave up and downloaded an ESD from the web, converted to ISO and updated using this. Now happily running 10240 :)

I am still waiting after trying all of the above before entering this forum. I would rather see and test it before the 29th! Past patiently waiting . . .
