You might try a hard reset. If the volume still doesn't work after that, you should see about getting the phone replaced or repaired.

I would hard reset. If that doesn't do anything, return your phone and get a new one.

Switch it off and switch it on again. Then try.
If it doesn't work then do a soft reset.
If that doesn't work, try hard reset.
If that too doesn't work, return it.
