Why am i not able to receive service messages on my Lumia 520 after the update?

I am not able to receive service msgs in my lumai 520 after update

After lumia denim update all my service messages got blocked. They were being sent to the 'call+SMS filter' instead of Inbox. I am unable to open call+SMS filter'' I had just blocked a few contacts from my phonebook but not the service messages like banking alerts. Anyone else facing this issue?
Please do let me know how to resolve this

Hard reset the device, if that doesn't help, i don't know what will. Oh and make sure you update the call + Sms filter app properly after switching the phone back on
