The more I read your post.. the more ridiculous it sounds.. You were mad WP7 didnt have features.. now they are adding those features plus some and your worried they're not going in the right direction ?
What revamp? There is no revamp. Its called project management and marketing. MS could not possibly have delivered EVERYTHING at once (ask google and apple .. they'll explain they did the same) it was too much work. The alternative would have put MS completely out of the smartphone market for up to a year.
Instead.. they introduced WP7 with limited features but very reliable with excellent user experience.. and more importantly a developer friendly ecosystem along with a few features not available on other platforms (Metro UI/XBL come to mind).
Mango.. is the progression of the original project plan for WP7. Its not a revamp ( I dont really care what WSJ says go back and read the release info).. its what has been in the plan all along.
Not sure what any of this has to do with girlfriend analogies.
