Windows insider & Windows 8.1 / Windows 10

Hi there,

I've got a couple of questions and I'm pretty confused right now.
I enrolled for Windows Insider to test the Image back then on my SP1 Pro.
My Desktop PC and my Dell Venue 8 Pro don't show any signs of the Get Windows 10 App, so I can't reserve my copy and activate it.

This means that my Desktop PC and my Dell Venue 8 Pro run both on Windows 8.1 Pro and everything up to date.
How do I obtain the Windows 10 image now?
Is there a link from MS for an ISO to download and install?
How do I upgrade my Windows 8 (8.1 Pro) Key to Windows 10?

My girlfriend has Windows 8.1 Pro and the App icon and reserved the copy of Windows 10. This means that she will be able to upgrade tomorrow.
How do I do that?
And do I lose any data? I hope I can just upgrade to Win 10?

I've read that some users state that they got 10240 and now the "Build" flag is gone. Can I do the same? As my account is flagged as insider, can I download the 10240 ISO and just upgrade and be happy about it?

And if so, does that mean that I get a "seperate update string" and will always stay in that "insider" queue?

Kind regards,

Verify that you have the gwx directory in your system32 folder. If it is not there your missing the update. If it IS there than check the event viewer. The gwx logs are found under applications and services, Microsoft, Windows, gwx-ins
