Laptop stuck 'updating touchpad driver'. It's been 10 hours, what should I do?

Laptop stuck 'updating touchpad driver'

So I updated my asus laptop so windows 10 yesterday and finally got it up and running this morning. Upon first use the laptop started to 'update touchpad driver'. It's been 10 hours since doing that and I cannot do anything with the laptop. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue but on my Dell XPS Synaptic drivers.
I downloaded the Microsoft tool that lets you ignore/hide updates. So I ran the program, hide the problem update, restarted and ran normal Windows update and it was fine
