Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3087040) - Error 0x80004005

I have tried to get it to install the update many times over the last few days. I'm not using IE 11 so I guess it doesn't matter but wondered whether it was sign that something else has a problem. I'm running Windows 10 64 bit.

I had this issue as well. Here's a link to a discussion on the Microsoft Support page. Compsupport provides direct links to this update. I installed the x64 version and everything worked fine. Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for - Microsoft Community

I followed the discussion in the Microsoft Support page and carried out the manual install which worked perfectly without needing a reboot. Thanks again!!!
