Hey all,

I have a Surface Pro 2 (on the Insider Program) trying to download the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based systems (KB3116908)" update. I keep getting the above error (0x80070570) when it tries to download. I feel like I read something about this somewhere on here, but I can't seem to find anything relative to my circumstances when I search for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My wife is wanting this Surface Pro when I upgrade!!!

And then I found an answer. Go to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download", delete all the files, and then retry the download.

Bigfireq,

I tried that, but it won't let me delete the file that's there because it is in use.

Hmm, I didn't have that problem. I'd suggest rebooting and then immediately trying to delete the files (in case a previous attempt to update locked them) and do the usual "make sure you're an admin" thing.

Download unlocker unlocker.en.softonic.com and you can delete the files that way

Stop the Service "Windows Update" in services.msc before renaming/deleting the Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder.

I did it the old fashioned way....went to Microsoft and downloaded the update file and ran it. It's all good now.

Thanks for all the responses.
