Why does File Explorer refresh with my wallpaper slideshow?

I have a HP ProBook 4540s and Windows 10. I have a slide show of pictures for my desktop background, and since the recent update I am having problems with some pages. In some pages, every time the background changes to a new picture it causes the page to refresh and undo anything I was in the middle of. It seems to only do this in file explorer or any window settings. I tried some suggestions for similar issues like disable superfetch, end any icloud applications (neither worked). The problem does go away if I don't use the slideshow feature for wallpaper display but I would still like to know if there is a way to fix it so that I can use the slideshow.
