VLC Beta: Features, Issues, Opinions

I have downloaded vlc beta and its not playing a single video or mp3 song. But on the right side, UI is amazing. I truly hope vlc will improve soon. What you guys think.

It plays music & videos, unfortunately no sounds at all.

Loving the UI. No sound here as well though. Some of my music doesn't seem to show up in the music list though.

Now it can play 720P videos with stutters but no sound and it also crashes whenever it likes.

UI looks great, and everything has worked well - apart from the entire lack of sound from any audio or video files that I have tried (and yes as a foreground app, I know background audio is not yet implemented).

No sound is the biggest issue.

? UI lag is still present.

? Populating lists after launching the app takes a while.

? Video playback is abysmal. Quality doesn't matter. 240p, 360p, 480p videos stutter. 720p plays via slideshow. Note that never have I faced any problems with video playback on my phone. Ever. The first time i watched Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was on my phone. 720p H.264 MKV file. They seriously need to fix this sh!t.

? Why doesn't a video automatically switch to landscape mode based on its aspect ratio? Why do I need to unlock the screen rotation for that to happen? Why?

L520 WP8.1.1 with Cyan. On Dev Preview.
