I may do something I've never done before. Buy an electronic device on the first day it's released. I usually wait until it's been available for about a month.

Sometimes it is worth it. I took that chance this year with 2, even preordered one and I have no regrets.

Eyeing it definitely. I'm on Tmobile as well. Currently using a Note 4 for my work apps but have had many Lumias. Still have an 830 and 640. My main concern is how much better of an experience will that 820 give over the 400 in Windows 10 Mobile, and will it significantly be better than the 808/810 on the 950/XL....

AT&T requires Band 17 for LTE (US), so this is a no-go. Same reason the 650 won't work on AT&T, grrrrr.

The 650 wont work on ATT? Thats weird because i own a 650 and have ATT. Of course the 650 works on AT&T, a lot of people who have 650s in the US i guarantee they have ATT.

The 810 is fine on the 950 XL i dont know why people complain so much about it. Its fine, gets a little warm but so what all my phones have/do.

I'm really happy with my 950XL on T-Mobile, but if the reviews on this are good I might take the plunge. It would be nice to have wifi calling.

Having a 950 now for a couple of weeks, I will wait for a review of this phone before I decide if it's worth getting.

I have to say this phone looks very nice and has some very impressive specs, I just hope it will do well. Time will tell.

Can go either way. I bought L640s for 3 family members the first day and they have been great. I pre-ordered 2 L950XLs and they were disasters but MS gave full refunds.

my bro has a 925 he wants to upgrade and refuses to go iphone/android. So he's sort of stuck waiting it out. If this lands in Canada he will likely buy it. Are the dimensions the same as the android one? If so at least the accessories will all fit.

Pretty sure physically the same. several articles that discuss the differences state that it is externally identical other than screen resolution. None mentioned any physical differences.

I have an interest in this BIG TIME !!! Being in Canada, and on Wind Mobile, if the phone has 1700 and 2100 Mhz it works :excited:, but I can't keep it straight what bands match to what Freq. I have already asked my friend in NY to be ready to hit the Tmo store for me and ship it here if indeed it is unlocked.

I am just now starting to pester Alcatel to find out if they are going to bring their Smartwatches in line with Windows 10 for Mobile, however that may require Bluetooth Gatt support in a Windows 10 build, but I am also in hopes this is already covered with something I saw on the Tmo site.....

Under Bluetooth is OPP ( Object Push )

However no matter what if I can get an Alcatel Onetouch Watch and a Onetouch Go Watch to work with an Idol 4S I'm in Big Time !!!!!

I worried about the availability of the phone a couple of months out. Remember the 640?
I have mixed feelings. That was bad for MS but great for us. I must have given away a dozen unlocked L640s when I picked them up for ~$10 each. You could get an AT&T L640 for $79 with a one year Office365 license that sold separately for $69. Gave the phones to fence setters and sold some of the Office365 licenses and kept several for my own use since they never expire. And the phones could immediately be unlocked due to a quirk in AT&T practices.

I have a feeling that even Alcatel is smarter than MS when it comes to phone sales projections so maybe that won't happen with these.

I thought AT&T was phasing out 17?

You may be right, would be good to confirm. I was using an old WC post on phones & carriers & bands which said Bands 2/4/17, but maybe that is old and not updated. Just now referenced a site called WillMyPhoneWork.net and it shows the Alcatel Idol 4s model 6070O as compatible using Band 12.
this is still bigger than I want but may have to consider it just 'cause my L635 is on its last leg (and not W10)

I don't have a 650, but looked it up on GSM Arena and bands don't match up. I am only speaking of LTE (would not get a phone without that speed). According to them the 650 Dual Sim has Bands 1/3/7/8/20, not Band 17 or Band 12. this is all more complex than it should be!
