Low in list Apps

I am wondering how the Marketplace list Popularity listing is generated. I kept going thru the list into the 500's and there was apps that were up in the 300-400's that I would think would be much higher. I was happy I did has around 534 I found an IP Camera viewer that supports my Foscam. Happy Happy.

Now if they can keep the list so it does not need to continue to scroll back to where you were!

Moral of the story is to keep scrolling thru the list to find some hidden jems.

Yes, it is NOT based off of total downloads. I have apps quite high in the list with less the 5000 downloads. It seems to be based off of instantaneous download (downloads for the previous day) as well as user ratings play a big role.
