settings icon disappeared

i formatted my phone a few minutes back and to my surpise the settings icon is missing. i tried to restart it several times to no avail, i even tried soft resets using the hardware buttons but that didn't work too. hard reset with hardware buttons failed, i don't know why. now i'm stuck, i can't even add my email to phone as my carrier requires that i manually setup the apn using the settings icon that is currently mssing, please help, i'm completely stuck and unable to work.

Is it not in the app list? (to the right of the start screen)

What xandros9 said, it should be in the app list on the right of the start screen. If on 8.1 it is also in the action center (pull down from the top and it is just under the fourth toggle switch)

thanx for responding, it wasn't there at all, i had to hard reset it, got some other reset ideas at this site called phonetipsandtricks dot com and everything worked out in the end, too bad i didn't think of taking a screenshot back then
