Messaging app live tile changes mood

This morning I received 4 messages and I noticed the built-in messagin app live tile was different.
Instead of the smiley face it had this one :-O .
Is it something new? I never noticed it before....

My phone runs Windows Phone8.1 (dev preview) update 1, no cyan update.

I'm not exactly sure since when it's doing this, but it's definitely not new. The smiley changes when there are 2 or more unread messages in your inbox. Could as well be 3 or more, I've never paid attention to the exact number of unread messages that are required to trigger the change.

If I remember correctly, it also did this on WP7 even!

There are 3 states, a sad face when you have no signal or when there's an error in messages. A happy face if you have no messages or something like 1 or 2 and the shocked face if you have loads of messages

You missed the winky-face when you have just one or so new messages
