A Microsoft Surface and Windows RT

I recently got an offer for a Microsoft Surface RT 32GB for $170.. I am tempted to buy it as I still feel the old gen tablet packed quite a punch (keeping aside the camera of course my 925 is sufficient).. but does Windows RT have a future? will it get any apps? do the current cross device applications support Windows RT?

I guess the real question is if the RT will get updated to Windows 9, threshold. This is the true cross platform version. Apparently WP and RT are to combine so WP apps will work on RT. However, there's not much detail around about these things and I'm not sure where you would find the information you need to make an informed decision.

it definitely has a future since the x86 apps it cant run aren't exactly amazing on touchscreen tablets so hopefully we'll see more modern apps.
its slated to be supported until 2017 i believe.
