Is it possible to program a Lumia Icon with the 930's firmware?

Has anyone tried it? Results? Any reason why it would/could not work, or would be a bad idea? Isn't the hardware between the two awfully similar?

Is it possible that this is actually the same hardware, just different firmware? I would think it would be more economical for Nokia to make one version hardware rather than two if they are this similar to one another; they can disable some frequencies in software just as well as hardware.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the lumia 930 has a Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AA, and the icon has a Snapdragon 800 MSM8974VV. So i'm not sure the firmware is exchangeable.

If the product types RM-XXX is same you can flash every rom you want, how ever Icon and 930 has different product type, so long story short, you can flash another 930's rom (like a country variant) but not Icon's.

no the Icon has CDMA hardware that won't make sense in an int'l phone.
You can try, but you risk bricking the cellular part of it. That is, IF it works.
