Win8 tablets. How to Close apps?

Im new to Win tablets, and im still getting used to it. One thing I want to know is how to close apps from the left pane -The one that opens by right swipe from left edge- i know i can open app and swipe down from top to bottom to close One app. There should some way to close directly from that pane. Any tips?

Tap on the window that you want to close and swipe down toward the center bottom of the screen

Awesome. I closed couple times some apps. But had no idea how I did it

 

[Funky Cricket]

with full screen apps, drag from the top of the screen to the bottom, this closes them.
