Is there an functionality lost when you use the Microsoft Band with the iPhone?

Microsoft Band operation with iPhone, in particular Cortana

I would like to know more about how much functionality (if any) is lost when you use the Microsoft Band with an iPhone. I have the iPhone 6. In particular I would like to know if the Cortana functionality is available with an iPhone.

They stated that it only works with Cortana right now. Not Siri or Google Now
