Why is my phone showing a sad face every time I switch on?

my phone is showing a sad face every time i switch on

this is the symbol on the screen and after switching the phone on no buttons work till the screen is off

Since we don't know what model you have, I'll give generic advice. You need to Hard Reset your phone using the physical buttons. You will loose your data, but anything backed up in the cloud can be restored.

​Do a web search for "<model name> hard reset" and follow the directions. You may want to plug into the wall charger to make sure you have enough juice for the process. Your phone will reset itself to factory.
