How to FULLY clear internet history

Hi Everyone. I know how to clear my browsing history - by opening explorer, clicking the 3 dots at the bottom right and clicking delete history. That seems clear the list in my recent file. However, when I then open up explorer and just get a blank screen with a box at the bottom where it says browse or search I still seem to have items in there. As soon as I type something, example "D", I get a previous search of "delete cortana history", Denver PA voice lessons. Both of those I searched for months ago. How do I get that to clear out? it's getting kinda messy.

maybe go into the search settings and delete search history? I believe it has a separate delete option.
