What is a good light app Kik, Kakao, Groupme or Voxer?

kik, kakao, groupme or voxer?

I'm looking for a good, efficient, fast and light app for chatting with contacts. Something to replace what'sapp. I'm not sure which

Would not recommend Kik on windows phone, had nothing but problems with it.

My impressions:

Kik - always seems to be the one used by those teens and thirsty people often ask "kik?"
Kakaotalk - the one all the Koreans seem to be on

Personally, I'd just go with what is most compatible with others. Nobody I know uses BBM, so that isn't something I'd use.
Skype is my choice, although some people use Whatsapp, etc.

EDIT:IM+ might be a nice one-stop solution.
