Is it possible to purchase a code online to factory unlock my phone, I have already unlocked the phone from ATT but can you also purchase factory unlock code as to debrand it and change theRM-877 -nam-att205 without having to flash it ?

You can either purchase the unlock code online or try getting a free unlock code from AT&T itself. (https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/)

After you SIM unlock your device it still cannot be considered factory unlocked but is carrier unlocked. Also the RM-977 or the AT&T 1020 cannot be flashed to another carrier ROM so there is no way to de-brand it.

Did you mean RM-877 , you wrote RM-977 and mine is RM-877, just wanted to make sure that was correct.
