Can I restore my contacts?

My mom recently bought a lumia phone and i have one for 2 years. Instead of making a seperate Windows account for my mom's phone I linked it with my account. Now the hotmail contacts on my phone are lost. Why did it happen and is there any possible way I can restore my contacts?

Log in to people.live.com and sign in, if your contacts are there what may have happened is that they may have been "pulled" and "put" into your mum's phone.

I would recommend creating a outlook.com account for your mum, the last thing you want is her emails syncing with yours and vice-a-versa lol. Not to mention photos and etc.
