I'm planning on getting a new phone soon and I was wondering on which one I should pick. I'm thinking either the Microsoft Lumia 640 or the Motorola Moto G (2nd Generation). If I get the Lumia I'll be locked down to my carrier (Cricket Wireless), but I'll get LTE. On the other hand if I get the Moto G I'll have an unlocked phone with near stock Android and one of the newest versions, but of the cost of only getting HSPA+. Which phone do you think I should get?

If you want to wait a bit, I believe we should be seeing T-Mobile and AT&T flavors of the phone soon.

I believe in other countries its available unlocked as well.

Personally, I don't value LTE too highly, so there's that. But the biggest question is what OS? Obviously, I think the consensus here at WC is Windows Phone, but it really depends on you. If you absolutely positively need Snapchat and something that works perfectly with Hangouts and Google Drive, it may not be for you. But if you can excuse those, its a fine product with other things to offer you. I'm not sure on what their pricing is, but both represent some of the best deals in mobile.

Its probably safe to say the 640 has a better camera stuck on the back.
I'd get the 640, but that's just me, it fits me best.

Cricket speeds might be slower. They're lte is capped at 8mbs. J just go with whatever phone suit your needs and wants the best.
