Screen defaults to Desktop but I want the Start Screen instead, how can I get it to do this?

Screen defaults to Desktop but I want the Start Screen instead

I hardly use the Desktop and have everything smartly set out on the Start Screen. My tablet wants to constantly default to the Desktop. Can I change this so it goes directly to the start screen?
