How do I stop my PC from connecting to the internet?

how do i stop my pc from connecting to internet

i want to boot up without my pc connecting to internet (win10) pc is hard wired from router.
what happened to ASK BEFORE CONNECTING or similar.
i only want my pc to access the web when i want it to.

I'm not sure why you would want to do this unless you are on a metered connection

If it is auto updates in Win 10 that you are worried about, try this: http://forums.windowscentral.com/wi...atic-windows-update-manual-windows-10-pc.html

Otherwise, Win 10 assumes you need internet to sync your Microsoft Account and leverage cloud services. All your live tiles on your start also need to update when you boot.

It is a connected world now. *shrug*
