I did not realize that if you 'X' out a sticky note on a computer it would delete it. I was updating a program software and it said to close out everything so I did including the sticky notes. These sticky notes were real important to everyday work. Can you restore a desktop to a certain period in time to bring back the sticky notes.

    Hmm, try this

    1. Navigate to C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes directory,
    2. right click on StickyNotes.snt, and select Restore Previous Versions.
    3. This will pull the file from your latest restore point, if available.

If you close the Sticky Note by right-clicking it on the taskbar, although it closes the Sticky Note application. Your notes should return and the same principle applies when you restart your pc.
