is my processor fine???

had my cpu usage up to 100% for long intervals since few months. checked out the temprature using speed fan , as it showed cpu temp 122 . i have pentium 4 @3ghz . is it fine or should i have to apply cooling paste??

122 degrees Fahrenheit isn't bad and I wouldn't worry about that. But if its 122 Celsius then you got yourself a miracle computer. (and a very serious thermal problem, although it probably would be dead long before that)

Check task manager to see what is using the CPU.

Sounds like some rogue processes may be in there. Do a full AV scan and see what might come up.

Something might be borked in the software. You could try this if you are on Windows 8 or higher: System file check (SFC) Scan and Repair System Files & - Microsoft Community


Lastly an inspection at the socket and new thermal paste would certainly not hurt anything.
