Re: Unable to retrieve emails after installing windows 10 after update to windows 10

Using windows live mail
has been working well for months when the computer was still running on Windows 7,
immediately after installing Windows 10, Windows live mail refused to send or recieve messages.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Frontier (rousu) account. An unknown error has occurred.

Server: 'pop3.frontier.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800C013E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

I can see the mail in the account via the web browser, but cannot upload nor download mail from Windows Live Mail.
All the settings look unchanged from what was working in windows 7. I suspect a coding error in the download and install software, as though it reset some mystery setting. Frontier said it all looked fine tho them from the Frontier/Yahoo side.

Unfortunately it seems that Windows Live Mail doesn't play nicely with Windows 10 itself. So, you can either use the browser or move to something like Outlook.com instead, which then works fine natively with Windows 10.
