Does the Lumia 1520 on W10M with the stock Microsoft camera app use any kind of image oversampling or is 4:3 at 19MP really the best mode to shoot in? How can I make the most of this camera?

Under W10M, the 5 MP pic from Camera App is still oversampled.

Here's what I do. 16:9 Camera App capture 5MP.jpg + 16MP.dng so I can edit the .dng post shot when I want and have a high res "negative" I can print from over and over without file degradation (the purpose of .dng after all). I've taken to a 1-2 punch on PC for .dng edit using Fotor to open the .dng and do basic edits, then save as .jpg. I then process the .jpg in Polarr for more in-depth edit and denoising.

When I want a high res jpg right from the phone I use Camera360 Sight or ProShot. Camera360 Sight gives mem fast launch and shot to shot times even with high res. ProShot lets me tweak away when I want to take time with composition.
