surface pro 3 has a cracked screen if i remove it will it still function

You mean remove the screen and connect it to an external display?

but to connect to external display you have to enable it, right? One of the 4 options for connect display like a projector or tv. And enabling that has to be done on the first screen which you can't remove :sweaty:

If the cover has a projector shortcut key like my laptop's keyboard (F7) then one can do it blindly.

Also if the main display isn't present, Windows might default to the external one!
