Start screen not showing on Lumia 950 XL

For some reason my 950 XL is not showing the start screen, just the app list and search on top, even when I hit the start menu. Can someone help?

can you pin apps to the start screen? Try that

Only time I have seen that was after using WDRT to go back to production, and restoring a backup that was made on Redstone.
